JSC Academy Force
Who should join this group?
- This JSC Academy program is for youth soccer players currently ages 7 - 8 who are looking to learn the basics needed to play the game of soccer.
What will they be doing?
- In this program the players will learn the basic, individual soccer skills such as dribbling, passing, receiving and shooting. Then, during the games, the coaches will be on the sidelines with referees on the field.
- The sessions will be run by a JSC coach that is a certified NSCAA and/or USSF licensed youth soccer coach. Each weekly practice session will have a theme or focus. Each practice will have:
- Warm-up activity
- Skill activity
- Fun activity
- 1v1 game
- Soccer game
Where will this happen?
- The practice and games sessions will all be held at Dupree Park Soccer Complex on fields 4 and 5. See map for directions
When will practices and games be played?
- During season, practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, times to be determined by the coach, and games will be held on Saturday mornings, schedule to be determined.
Cost and what does it cover?
- $95.00/per season. This covers the players club uniform (jersey, shorts, socks); ASSA player, team, and insurance fees; JP&R field usage fees, coach education, equipment, referee fees, etc.
About the program:
- The curriculum was designed by Bryan Dortar, who has been coaching for 20 years. He has an USSF ‘A’ license, and has coached at three different colleges and three different youth soccer associations during those years. He has done a lot of coaching education with the Arkansas State Soccer Association's Director of Coaching Jennifer Pfeiffer and Robert Parr. Currently, he is the Director of Coaching in Russellville with AVSA.
